Kalamegam had opted Chinnadharapuram Panchayat to conduct the PMGDISHA training programme. Most of the people in Chinnadharapuram are daily wage workers with no digital knowledge.
Kalamegam had to take extra effort to persuade and bring candidates to the course. Now, she has 250 candidates joined for the course. Candidates including school and college students and housewives were taught digital concepts like operating computer, tablet, mobile phones and laptop. They were also trained to make cashless payments through BHIM app, USSD, Net Banking and AEOS.
Today, with the help of PMGDISHA, nearly 75% of the population of Chinnadharapuram is digitally literate .
